Absolutely, my first serious watch was a micro. Oak and Oscar Humboldt GMT. not only did I love the look, the Salita movement, and the fact that it's built like a tank!
I really only have micros. I’d like to pick up a luxury watch someday, but with young children, I think I’ll wait till they’re eatablished in life before I go dropping 2-4 grand on a watch. Micros are awesome for allowing folks to participate in watch collecting without breaking the bank.
