I am 58 years old, in my life I only met two persons that were watch lovers, unfortunately it was decades ago. Now, that I'm so much interested in the subject I have totally lost contact with them. 😢
PS: Your watch is beautiful. I just am not a big fan of that big hour hand.
Yes, I know, the new movement is on the way, it's a cheap Epson VX3JE. I never expected to be able to reset the stem so the 1st thing I did was order the full movement.
I'm waiting for batteries too. Now for sure I will check if the old movement works before installing the new one. I would be a shame if my 1st success was totally meaningless.
I had to remove the 3 screws that hold the bridge that it's over the stem works, it was not too hard, probably I have more than 30 screwdrivers of all sizes in my home, but only 1 that it's 1mm.
But you don't imagine the fight it was to replace that screws with a highly magnetized screwdriver. It's nightmare stuff... 😀 I don't want to have to do it again, never. Magnetized tools are handy for a lot of things but NOT for watch making tasks... No sir...
Already sent for a cheap set from Aliexpress.
The next challenge will be re-installing the hands. The sub dial hands are so small that I had to use a blade to get under them in order to pop them out. It looks so easy on the YouTube videos, well, it is not !!!
A very beginner question. Can I sleep with an automatic watch? I tend to be a quiet sleeper so I'm not afraid of damaging by knocking it in something. I just don't know if it can affect the mechanism.
But I remember that in my youth everybody removed the watch before going to sleep, after winding it of course.
