I think they loved what they loved. They often liked the same thing, which for me is a problem. To many like minded people in a group brings no balance to a conversation. And I get the Bamford was all about self promotion, but God he likes something else other than his own products.

With all the criteria you have... You need a Longines. Punches way above it's weight. Top dollar value and value retention. But make sure to try many of them on. Sub 2K go with Hamilton or Nivada Gretchen, or laco, so many options. Find what fits your wrist.

I think the debate between the two styles means little to nothing. Like/love what you want to and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. I own a Tudor Ranger. Probably the most hated/loved watch on the internet. The debate between the pelagos vs the black bay? One is shinyer than the other. Pelagos 39 is gorgeous. Black bay 54….same thing. I’m lucky. With my 7.25 inch wrist I can wear just about anything. But I recently told my brother in law who owns a beautiful Omega, and was very self conscious about it, the man wears the watch…not the other way round. He wears it all the time now. Enjoy your wrist bling in good health.
