Let me preface this by saying that this hobby is based on emotion, not logic. If you can't find the beauty in seeing the movement of a RRCC2 or a datograph then this hobby probably isn't for you. I'm not saying this in a gatekeeping way, I'm saying that you either love it or you don't.
I have 7 watches, all mechanical. I wear each watch for a week or so straight and then rotate to the next. I let the ones I'm not wearing wind down. When I pick them back up in a couple of months, I wind them and set them, which is a nice ritual.
Winding a high quality mechanical watch is a beautiful feeling. You can feel the gears rotating and clicking. You can feel the spring tightening.
Mechanical watches are heart warming, they're obsolete tech that will last generations and provide beauty to your life with each tick of the escapement. You and only you power the watch, either with your wrist movement or with your fingers.
As you are probably only just now entering this beautiful world, I suggest you to learn more. Educating yourself will push you to discover what makes these mechanical marvels so interesting.
