I had a Club Date 38mm and with a 7in wrist found it to be the maximum lug to lug length I would wear. I eventually sold the watch. Those Nomos lugs are no joke!

If you can try on the SMP at a store I would. It comes in around 50mm lug to lug and I found it visually large on my ~7in wrist. I lean toward more modestly sized watches in general so your tastes may vary.
