Well there is nothing wrong in measuring time using quartz, the functionning is pretty amazing and there is incredible beauty in the underlying principles too.

Thing is, I like to read time on an analogue dial, and to me there is something fake about quartz watches trying to look analogue that I just can’t stand. A dial on a quartz watch is just a pathetic getup therefore, I prefer mechanical and automatic watches by far.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my G-Shock and its digital display, it just serves a different, more utilitarian purpose.
