Citizen Watch Warranty Repair Service

I purchased this watch about 1 and a half years ago and yesterday it stopped. Since it is usually stored in a room with little light, I thought that the eco-drive capacitor discharged. I tried to charge it with a powerful flashlight, and it has been in the sun for half a day. Still, no movement. Something else is wrong.

Since it is still within the warranty period, I need to send it to the repair center to get fixed. Does anybody has experience with the Authorized Citizen Repair Service? How hard are they to deal with? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've used them twice and each time service was great. Send it in.

You should keep near a window in the furure. A dark room where it powers down isn't recommended.

Hi. I’m by no means an expert but recently found my old mums citizen solar that had been in the wardrobe for 8years. It took a whole day in bright sun and the next morning when the sun came up it started working again. But the battery did need replacing as it didn’t hold the charge. Maybe it needs longer in bright sunlight. But do get it checked out ( for no charge) our country’s consumer guarantee act does cover items that fail so new so as not to put the consumer out of pocket. It’s on the seller

Thanks for letting me know. I'm going out of town for a week next week, so I plan to keep it on the window sill all that time. If it still has problems after that I will send it in.

Thanks. I've had a similar issue with my older citizen from mid-90s. It was in a drawer for over 10 years. After a day of charging, it would work during the day, but stop at night. So, I replaced the capacitor and now it works great. But this watch is too new and expensive for me to tinker with. So, I'll try charging it for several days, and if it does not work, I'll send it in.

After a few days on a window sill the watch started going. It event survived overnight. I'm going to continue charging it for another week and see.

Supposedly they demand some light every half a year to maintain good health, you live and learn.
