I am constantly in discovery mode in my watch collecting journey! My gateway into this hobby was a vintage Seiko 6139-6005 that my dad gave me when I was in my mid 30's. I didn't know much about watches at the time, but after getting the movement serviced and watch cleaned out I was hooked.
I also have an interest in vintage items, every day carry, heritage wear, hockey, and minimalism.
My dad had a Seiko 6139-6005 "Pogue" and it was his daily wear watch through most of my childhood. He was a steelworker by trade and as such, the watch took a beating but I always remembered the distinct gold dial.
My dad gave the watch to me in my mid 30's and I decided to get it serviced and I sourced a NOS OEM crystal for it too. I was hooked after seeing that dial pop again after service!
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I had some digital watches in the 1980's that my parents bought me. The first watch I bought on my own was an Alfred Sung fashion watch.
