Underrated gem - Tissot "Le Locle"

When I saw this watch online for 250 euros in impeccable condition and I jumped on the occasion but little I knew about owner's history of the watch. A well dressed older gentle men showed up and I gave him the money in exchange of the watch and a few minutes of chit chat later we parted ways.

A few months passed by and the crown was getting stiffer by the day. I had to take the watch to my watchmaker. He opened the thing up and to my horror the inside of the watch had rust. He told me that the watch must have fallen into the water to have so much water damage and I had to replace the whole movement.

I still love this watch very much and it is a keeper and a good reminder for me to be careful when I buy used watches.

Still a good looking watch, to bad about the rust but glad it was repaired.

Nothing against the watch, but how is it "underrated"? With the exception of the Gentleman it is probably the best known Tissot watch.

Thanks. Luckily it was an easy movement to replace 😊

No according to my watch dealer. Apparently it's difficult to sell dress watches compared to sports watches.

Ah, okay. I can see it in that sense. The design may also be a little dated, and the PRX is probably getting all the focus in the dress watch category.
