Have you tried a Bonklip?
Very similar but easier to use & a bit more comfortable. I've got both & wear my Komfit on a Bulova Lunar Pilot ( not a speedy, but close enough looking to the ones worn on Apollo 13 the film)
So I'd suggest a Sturmanski like Gagarin wore. Not strictly historically accurate, but the space connection is cool . You can find them cheaply on eBay in different sizes, & tho not genuinely vintage they're pretty much modern reproductions in every way so you get the best of both.

I went for Komfit because I love the fact that the endlink bit is spring loaded so it fits almost all my watches (from 18mm through 20mm)! How cool is that 😂
Bonklip is definitely good for the money. I believe it's even more versatile (picturing it on a A12, on boy 😍)
