Mondaine Stop2Go, where they go?

Hello, my first post here seeking information. Does anyone know of Mondaine? They have two very popular models, Helvética and the Swiss Railway. Mondaine offered a peculiar model called the Stop2Go for one of the Railway watches. The seconds hand ticked for 58 seconds then waited 2 seconds while the minute hand jumped to the next minute. This was a recreation action similar to the Swiss metro clocks which Are all synchronized across the entire rail system.

Anyway, they Stop2Go model was discontinued but there is press out stating stating that it had been brought back in other models but There is nothing on the Mondaine page about this. I sent Mondaine several e-mails, but I have not received any response. Does anyone have any information about this?

I am on a similar boat here: has been searching for a new old stock Stop2Go quartz movement Mondaine watch to no avail. Will visit Genena again this July and hopefully I will get lucky 🍀

On eBay there are sellers in Germany selling Stop2Go clocks.

I sent an email earlier this year to Mondaine and this was the response I received.

Well, that answers all my questions, thanks. I was looking to buy second hand, but the offers available are going for over $1000 dollars which is way too much for this model.

Thanks for sharing. I have fond memories of taking Swiss trains and seeing these clocks. Great to know these will be available again.

Any luck finding one ?

I do have a question; the stop2go was strictly a quartz model correct ? I think it would be difficult to do a mechanical version.

No, no luck yet and yes, the stop2go is a quartz movement 58-02, but looks like Mondaine discontinued this movement. 58-02 had a high battery drain and the movement was not reliable and many broke prematurely.
