I have both. The SBGW is more versatile (especially on a light strap), but the Americaine feels special and less common.  The downside with the Americaine is that any strap would need to be custom made, given the small lug width.

You should check it out in person if you haven’t already! It’s also surprisingly versatile with a casual strap.

Just FYI the new green and blue dial SBGWs are not limited! The classic cream dial is also great and can probably be purchased at a discount

I got a similar scratch from a subway turnstile 10 minutes after I walked out of an AD after purchasing my first luxury watch. It adds character! I think it was helpful for me to recognize that I don’t need to baby the watch. 

Honestly my biggest gripe with this watch, albeit silly but absolutely real, is that it’s called the yacht-master.

Nomos Ahoi Neomatik (36mm). I reach for this more often than any other watch — it’s understated but fun!
