I have both. The SBGW is more versatile (especially on a light strap), but the Americaine feels special and less common. The downside with the Americaine is that any strap would need to be custom made, given the small lug width.
I got a similar scratch from a subway turnstile 10 minutes after I walked out of an AD after purchasing my first luxury watch. It adds character! I think it was helpful for me to recognize that I don’t need to baby the watch.
