Has anyone gone to a Wind Up Watch Fair event? If so, was it worth the trip and how was the experience? I’d like to go to the one coming up in Chicago...
I like the new design, but I could live without that minute hand. My eyes go straight to that large square every single time. Maybe it won’t bother me as much in person. The rest of the watch looks great though.
I was in a similar situation. I had tried on the Tudor BB58 several times at a local AD, but something was off. I liked the watch, but didn’t love it. I was also interested in the Monta Oceanking, so I went to their office in St. Louis to try it on. It was the watch I’d been looking for. The fit, finish, and customer service was phenomenal. I live about 15 minutes away from their St. Louis location, so that made trying it on a non-issue. If you are ever in St. Louis, set up a time to go to their office. It’s worth a visit. Or if you are going to the watch fair in Chicago, I could let you try my Oceanking.
I think it depends on the AD. I bought a Breitling from an AD, because I actually wanted it. That purchase wasn’t to build a relationship. I told them I also wanted a Submariner, and then I got a call 2 months later that the Sub came in. I know there‘s a wait on the in demand models, but each persons experience varies greatly on wait times.
