This mod is made from SKMEI 1998, which is a homage to the infamous Moonswatch that cost me around 10 USD. Weirdly enough, not sure if it’s better or worse than the actual MoonSwatch… but it has a quieter ticking sound and smoother chrono sweep😅.
I painted over the dial 2-3 times before I get to this itteration which I finally kinda like. The color ended up looking a lot more matted than I like since I used poster color paint and colored marker.
Changed the strap into a traditional Batik Ikat pattern (a traditional style of garment from Indonesia) to complete the look.
I kinda like it and I do wear it around. Hahaha.
Btw, do anyone know what ink/paint someone like thedialartist use when they custom paint their dials? Thanks in advance!!

Now this "MoonSwatch" I can get on board with! Well done.
I'm feeling helpful and want to provide the ink/paint types used by thedialartist, but I just don't know.

Wah… looks like it’s a propriety/ secret sauce kinda thing. Oh well…

Haha. Thanks! I’m actually modding a few more of them.

Hey, you can narrow it down to UV-resistant and synthetic! I'm sure it is commercially available stuff. Whether a rattle can from the local hardware store fits this criteria, I don't know.

Hmm… ill check out my local store to see if there’s something that could work. Thanks!!
