I think vintage Omegas are still undervalued for the quality and experience of wearing 60+ year-old watches.

Aside from improvements on materials (e.g. silicon) and a few mechanical innovations (e.g. to improve isochronism), I think many watch brands peaked in the 1950s.

The discussion of variety seems to polarise many collectors - too few options (e.g. Rolex [DJ excluded]) and too many (e.g. Omega).

Biggest to smallest would be two of my Seamasters: a vintage 1956 (501 movement) and a 2018 (8900 movement). Oddly I have no trouble switching from a 34 mm to 44 mm.

I bought my Speedy in January 2020 (new from a European grey dealer) and paid 4400 USD.  With the introduction of the co-axial 3861 prices of the older 1861 Speedies increased.

I don't have the numbers in my head, but the 3235 movements are slightly thicker than the 8900 movements. So relatively thick Omega watches seems to be a design choice and not due to the added height of the co-axial escapement.

Looks great!  I also prefer a no date on the Sub.
