Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

I guess I can say that I already had the interest in watches even when I was in grade school. That was when I saw myself starting to regularly wear a watch and back home where it’s tropical, my wrist would have a watch tan very quick and I found it very awkward. That was probably my childish reason why I continued to wear a watch and eventually spiraled into a passion unknowingly.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

My first non toy-related watch was a gift from my parents when I was in grade 3. It was a Seiko 4205, mid-sized black dialled diver. I can still fondly remember fiddling with the bezel or making sure the lume pip was at 12 and just stare at the time comparing if it was still accurate from other clocks. The smell from the rubber strap and a kid’s sweat can somewhat bring a weird but familiar smell. Almost nostalgic.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

🔘Be less impulsive in acquiring watches 🔘Try not to purchase a “Plan B” watch just to cure the itch of your supposed to be “Plan A” piece 🔘Friendship and relationship are far more important than material things 🔘There is no end in this passion, it’s your perspective that matures

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Maybe a PP Aquanaut 5167A. Simple and elegant 😊
