Ok, apparently I'm a maniac, so here's two more sets (which are slightly overlapping with the previous one):

Oris Bigcrown Pointerdate 40mm ($1700) + Zelos Horizons 39mm ($500) + Yema Navygraf 39mm ($700)

Image

The Yema and Zelos are the workhorses of this set, in complementary colors (but again, orange and yellow accents.. definitely a pattern here!) and the Oris is the casual/dressy option.

I do have some doubts about the Oris though - I guess it's a more casual than dressy (though it's rather slim, and looks good), but at the same time it's one of the more expensive ones in my collection, and I definitely don't use it for daily wear...

Citizen NB6010 ($1000) + CW C63 GMT ($900) + RZE Endeavour ($500)

This set is a bit more colorful, but I think it works better than the previous one.

The RZE in titanium with ultrahex coating is great for a tool watch when working on the car or breaking stuff around the house. And then it works just as well on the beach or at the pool.

The CW is great for travel and everyday wear - put a bracelet on it (not me - I wasn't smart enough to get the bracelet version!) and it could work on slightly more formal occasions too.

Lastly, the Citizen is a bit quirky with the octogonal case and slightly industrial looks - but I think it works great for the office, but also for the pub in the evening.

And a bonus Citizen set, inspired by @MegaBob  :

NB1050-59A ($600) + NB6010-81E ($1000) , NY0081-10L ($300)

Ok, I'll see myself out now!

Yup, super impressed with the Zelos! I am lusting for a meteorite dial now, in 38..39mm  - unfortunately I missed the Mako and Spearfish, but I am sure he'll come up with some interesting releases in the future.

Awesome thread, and awesome collections mentioned above!

Lately I've been doing a lot of permutations (within my own collection) of 3 watches, and here is the set that I've actually used the most for the past months:

1. Everyday watch: Christopher Ward C63 GMT, $900

Image

I love this one - it looks good, it's just the right size, it's relatively affordable.. it just feels right. The GMT is not needed for everyday wear, but the non-GMT ones have less colors available, and this is the 'blue' representative of the collection :)

2. Desk diver: Zelos Horizons 39mm, $550

Image

This is the 'white dial' representative! Again, the size is just right, and it works great as an every day watch too. Quality is great and the price is very affordable. And I just noticed I have a thing for orange accents on the dial :)

3. Casually dressy: Hamilton intra-matic 38mm, $900

Image

Extra simplicity with no seconds hand. Polarizing - but there are times when I don't want to see the seconds pass by :)

I think these watches go well together for an affordable collection, keeping it under 40mm and covering any use-cases that I might encounter.

There's room for some upgrades (this set is slightly over USD2200 with the current MSRPs), but then I think it would become slightly unbalanced - at which point I would probably 'build' a completely new set.

Which I might... right after this :)

Shameless plug of my Citizen NB6010, but I quite like it, and apparently it has sufficient magnetic resistance that they mentioned it on the case back :)

The case may not be for everyone, and it has some areas susceptible to scratches, but it could be an interesting choice.

Yup, pretty little watches!

This is the 'black' dial, but it's more like a light brown; I like matching it with a greenish leather strap - very nice pastel tones!

Thank you! I think this is the watch with the best quality/price ratio that I have in my collection. I can wholeheartedly recommend #zelos if you like their looks!

And the lume on this thing... Oh man!

This one wears smaller than the 40mm size, probably because the thicker edge around the dial, but the lug-to-lug is around 49mm, and I think my 6.75' wrist is just at the limit.
