I broadly agree with his take, but really didn't get any sense that the Explorer is "special".... Rather, it's essentially as "luxury" as you can make a watch and still somewhat convincingly pretend it's a tool.

Thats no more or less "special" than how cheaply you can make a watch and still somewhat convincingly pretend it's a tool.
