The panelling in this dial is almost holographic in appearance when seen in person! Color ranges from nearly black/brown when in low light to maroon in room lighting to fiery red as seen here. Really has to be seen in a variety of conditions in person to be appreciated!

Pretty much the case with almost all GS dials with texture (Shunbun, White Birch, Lake Suwa, etc....). You really need to see them in person to get the full experience.
