This or that? Longines Spirit 37mm vs IWC Mark XVIII LPP?
Hey guys, I currently own the 40mm IWC MARK XVIII LPP, and I have been loving the watch. The only downer is that at almost 51mm, the lug to lug distance is a tad too long. The Longines 37mm Spirit cau...
I personally like to buy watches that all can be a 1 watch collection on its own, so honestly personally I'd go for either the Explorer 1 or the OP.
Something simple and timeless that you can wear day in and day out. Between the two it'd a coin toss but I'd likely choose the Explorer 1 for the Mercedes hour hand.
It looks like you're after a blue dial piece with high polish cases. Both are excellent picks, but my pick goes to the Panerai.
Both have very unique case shapes (44GS and the Panerai Crown Guard), and the Spring Drive arguably is the better movement compared to the Panerai's P6000 manual wind. It comes down to what you like in a watch, and for me in my collection I already own a Grand seiko and I am after a Panerai, so that is where my pick will go

i hear you and that makes a lot of sense, but how do we then navigate the brand and model conversation once that is added back into the mix, or are you suggesting that i leave brand and model consideration out? thanks!

thanks for that, i actually have and the only reason why its not on my mind is because it has a lot of polished surface compared to the LPP 40mm, i would prefer a mostly brushed/satin finished case haha.
