Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

I first got into watch collecting in high school when I bought my first G-Shock which was all the rage amongst youth in the late 2000s and into the early 2010s. Into college I switched to the Timex Weekender and Casio calculator watches until both broke, when I switched to a Fitbit. I wore that till the Apple Watch and only returned to watches again after starting my career in accounting. So far I have Seiko and Citizen watches and I hope to collect more reputable brands now that I have a career.

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

The first watch I selectively sought out and purchased was the G-Shock illuminator around 2010/2011.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

To be determined 😊

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Just start collecting watches regardless of price, regardless if they are luxury watches or not. Watches are meant to bring you enjoyment and too often seen as a status symbol when they do have a practical purpose. Everyone starts somewhere.

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Currently I’ve been looking at acquiring the Tissot PRX and Hamilton Field Mechanical. I’ve also been looking into acquiring either Orient, San Martin and/or Pagani Design to build out my collection. Eventually I do hope to purchase a Tudor watch. Rolex and Omega are aspirational brands I hope to have someday.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

Currently, this would be my Seiko Chronograph 200m and it is the most expensive watch in my collection. It also has sentimental value since this watch was purchased with my a bonus from my 2nd year working anniversary.
