Tudor 1926 hands

Dear All,

Sorry if this has been discussed.

I'm looking at the Tudor 1926 in 36mm as a backup to my daily wearer ... not that it matters as much but I'm wondering if the hands are thermally or chemically blued. They look dyed to me.

For what it’s worth, I have the 39mm variant in the same color scheme and absolutely love it. I couldn’t find out either whether they’re thermally or chemically blued, but the hue when I look at the hands suggests it was chemically applied.*

They look fantastic though, especially when the light hits them, which for my money is the most important thing. Also pictures do not do the watch justice. The color is much, much richer and vibrant on wrist.

*I am by no means an expert.

Thanks and you're right it doesn't matter that much. I might see if I can catch one at an AD and see what it looks like in the metal.

Does the 39 wear big? That bezel looks a bit thin to me.

It wears perfectly if you ask me. I don’t know if the proportions would work for a larger watch, but at 39mm the large dial in relation to the bezel seems to make it more versatile. It feels like it wears a little larger when you have on short sleeves, but the actual dimensions mean it also manages to wear smaller with long-sleeved outfits. The part no one seems to talk about it how crazy thin the case is, too. It easily slips under the cuffs of every one of my shirts.

I’ve had mine for about 8 months, and in that time it’s become my favorite watch on my collection. It’s a dark horse and is criminally under-appreciated in the current climate. I love it.
