Just a broke student who's totally hooked on watches. Wouldn't change a thing! This page is my personal blog where I'm keeping track of my watch collecting adventures. Hopefully, one day I'll look back and remember all the good times.
Dad gave me his old Seiko 5 from the 80s. I gave it a little shake and the thing started working! From that moment I was captured by the watches and started exploring...
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first watch that I bought with my own money was the Seiko Presage SARY051 with a 4R38A movement
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Seiko 5 that my dad gave to me is the only piece in my current collection that has story behind it. It was watch that my grandfather bought for my dad. He can't remember the year when it was bought but he knows that he wore it to school. From my research and the stories that he told me, I figured that it is from 1987.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
You don't have to spend a lot of money to get a very nice watch. Don't be afraid to start collecting watches just because you think that they are very expensive. Seiko is a very good starting point, they have broad collections from different types to different price ranges. Start with cheaper watches and see what you like.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I don't have a single grail watch. I hope that someday I would be successful enough so that I could afford some watches that I appreciate very much. Some of those watches are: Omega Speedmaster and Seamaster, Grand Seiko Snowflake (SBGA211G), Rolex Submariner, Citizen AQ4100... The list will most certainly grow.
