Kurono Tokyo Calendrier Azuki Review

For the past 2 months, I've been wearing my Kurono Tokyo Calendrier Azuki almost every day. Here are some of my thoughts after this time:

Firstly, I want to talk about the unboxing experience, which was superb. The watch came in a beautiful package, with a wax sealed envelope and even contained a non-treated leather-bound notebook as a nice surprise.

The watch is a great size at 38mm with 10mm thick (I have 17cm wrist) with a fine coin-edged bezel, which makes the watch perfect to be a dress watch. However, it's unique phosphor-bronze red-ish dial with it's gothic numerals, help the watch to feel edgy and not too buttoned up.

I bought the watch, because I always wanted a full calendar watch, but didn't want to spend the 5-figures for a perpetual calendar. It still provides the complication and I want, and setting the correct date few times a year shouldn't be a problem.

The Movement is a Miyota caliber 9122, with day, date and month complication. So far, the watch has been really accurate and I didn't have to adjust the time even once.

If there was something that I would change in the watch, it would be to add lume to the dial, because high polished hands are great during the day, but useless at night. Also, the OEM leather strap that was provided is poor quality, just feels cheap and cheapens the feel of the premium product.

All in all, I think it's a really unique watch, from a very interesting brand. I paid 1700 USD for this watch, and you can really see the value and the craftsmanship.

Let me know if you have any questions, or what are your views on Kurono Tokyo as a brand or this particular model?

The lack of lume isn't great, but that's a killer looking watch.
