Looks familiar 🤔

Unimaginative and disposable

I’m impressed.

Why bother with a Rolex now?

·

I’m just not an homage watch guy. No hate on anyone that likes them though.

Tandorio cut the cost at least 5 times while maintains same quality with big names

I've had no experience with this brand thus it's very difficult to asses on the quality by just looking at the pictures. First I would not call them "homages" as this word's meaning has been perverted so much so I have to use the the term "true homage" to explain the difference between a direct design copy, which I have nothing against, and what a true homage should be like (see Lorier watches to explore the difference).

This being said while the quality can be pretty decent there's a long shot as to compare with the quality a brand like Rolex or other high end watches bring to the table. I've seen NH34 and Rolex movements like the 3135 being serviced and there's no comparison. I mean, the NH34 is a great movement and I have a lot of watches with that one and has very interesting pros, but these movements don't play at the same league.

What I like from these watches is, as @jozhou mentions is the affordability of maintenance I've grown to appreciate everyday more while being able to experience a classic design and looks. The measures are also something more in line with what I personally like, like the 20mm lug width, the contained 12mm height and the 39mm case. All of that is really nice.

What I would encourage Chinese brands would be to try to take a twist and come with somehow new designs that evoque other watches but can stand on their own like San Martin is beginning to do. Now they have the tools and the experience to be able to come with new interesting things. Of course I know this is a process that takes time and is risky, but I believe this will pay in the future.

Thanks for sharing.

It’s great that I can comment then because I’ve had experience with unimaginative homage watches and attractive transvestites…
