Anyone know a good watchmaker in Milan?

This holiday season I inherited this Seiko Sea Lion M110 (6106-8060) that used to belong to my grandfather and later to a very dear uncle that passed...

I had the same issue with mine! But took it to the AD and they took care of it under the warranty

The same happens to me! After taking my time choosing a beautiful display box, which looks amazing when filled up and makes me kind of proud, I still manage to randomly place watches around my room. Even if I actually used the box all the time it would probably lead me to not use some watches at all😅 just part of how my ADHD works.

I'm from Quito, Ecuador 🇪🇨 but I'm based in Milan 🇮🇹

The 60 minutes and 60 seconds come from ancient Babylonian math which was a sexagesimal system, so every was a power of 60s (compared to the power of 10s of the decimal system), and the 24 hours per day comes from ancient Greek astronomy. The system is totally arbitrary but they were based on how things could be measured consistently in ancient times.

For me Seiko, Hamilton and Baltic hit way over their weight in value. Even if Seiko has some movement weak points and QC issues they more than make it up in other areas.

I had the same doubt as you, and about buying the exact same watch😅 in the end I tried it on when I was visiting another city and could be sure that it was for me, and bought it instantly. Since I have very skinny wrists I always need to test how watches feel.

If you do go for it, I don't think you will regret it! It's very wearable and perfectly proportioned and if it fits well on my 5.9'' wrist I'm sure everyone can pull of this watch.

Also that dial is AMAZING.

Offroading! Maintaining the car, beating it up and compulsively looking for new extras to add to it is soooo addicting! Plus the thrill of actually using it and fixing it on the go is similar to the pull a mechanical movement has on me (and also a nice excuse to wear a nice field watch).

Torn between two watches

I’m currently torn between buying a Seiko Baby Alpinist or a Laco Flieger Spayer (The “original“ type B flieger in 39mm). Both have similar dimensions...
