Watch Transformation - Omega Speedmaster Racing
Hi all,
I recently bought a Omega Speedmaster Racing with a white dial and the metal bracelet.
I really like the design, but to be honest, I am no bracelet guy. I really love the Omega folding clasp and I also have a Aqua Terra with a rubber bracelet on a folding clasp. Man what a nice strap, as good as the rubber strap of the 300M or even better. So I thought, maybe I would love the watch even more if I go the folding-clasp-way. 😜
I visited an AD in Mannheim (Germany) and ordered a original folding clasp plus the original black leather strap of the Speedmaster Racing. The one with the white contrast stiching. I yesterday mounted it and WOW what a transformation!!! See for yourself:
I think now it is perfect. What do you think?
Do some of you had similar experiences, where the strap made a real difference?

Beautiful timepiece! The idea of a canvas strap on this sounds fantastic.
As far as I know, Omega has no canvas strap which fits. And I like my straps to be from the same brand like the watch.
TBH I am more thinking about a rubber strap…but I had not figured out whether the one of the Seamster PO fits or not (it is also 21 mm)…

I usually prefer bracelets, but I have to agree that the white dial Speedmaster Racing really suits the black strap. I recently picked up an Artem sailcloth strap for my Speedmaster Broad Arrow, and decided to try it on my Speedmaster Racing. I really like it, but the strap is 20mm, and the lug width of the Speedmaster Racing is 21mm, so there is a slight gap. I'm trying to decide if the gap bothers me enough to buy another strap in 21mm. I'm sure most people wouldn't notice, but it's the first thing I see when I look at it. The fit on the Broad Arrow is perfect, and the black strap really seems to suit it as well.

I love these watches. Pretty nice. In despite that ALL my omegas have bracelets, I never use them. But, the new Speedy bracelet is something else. The new bracelet model deserves to be worn.
