Two weeks ago I posted my fears about the possibility my just bought vintage watch (Citizen Bullhead) were radioactive, due to a possible use of promethium (a low radioactive material) in the dial. After reading lots of papers and forums, I decided to buy a Geiger counter and test it by myself. This is the result of my testing: the watch is not radioactive, as I had supposed, so I guess that the rule that says the dial with the words JAPAN 8110 is free of promethium is absolutely true. Next step: service the watch... by myself.

Why must I always be right? It is my burden, I suppose.
Considering the russian watches I have accumulated I have lately contemplated buying a radiation meter of some sort. You don't know where they have been...

You can find some affordable Geiger counters in Amazon. They are accurate, there are a lot of videos in YouTube with comparisons between expensive and well constructed ones with chinese cheap ones and the measurements are equivalents.
Cool bullhead, didn’t Brad Pitt wear this in some movie?
Actually yes, he wears it (but with a leather strap) in the movie ‘Once upon a time in Hollywood’.

It’s fit for a movie, that watch is really cool.
