Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
Always been enamored with watch collecting. For me, they are as much pieces of art and hand craftsmanship as they are mechanical pieces for time keeping. Now that I have a little more disposable income, it’s something I can pursue.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first “nice” watch I rode was a Movado. My parents gave it me for my 21st birthday. Funny, because I asked for a new drum set.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
Only the Mavado mentioned in prior question I got for my 21st birthday
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don’t get hung up on name brands and don’t overspend. Get something that calls to you and that you have a genuine interest in. Don’t try to “keep up with the Joneses” you’ll always lose that race.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
The two brands getting my attention lately are Christopher Ward, and Alexander Shorokhoff.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
probably an omega Speedmaster, because of the history and provenance that comes with it. I think it will be in reach within the next few years, I could shoot for the moon and say something like an AP, but there are some brands I will never own.
