My first watch was a Bulova my dad gave me when I was around 10, in the mid 70's. Not sure what happened to that but I remember it having a beautiful fumé dial...might have been water damage - it's hazy at best.
Then I got a red LED watch, very science fiction - around the time of the first/second Star Wars in the 70's. I hit the button so often the batteries just did not last.
In the late 90's I bought a ceramic/titanium Rado with excellent dual time zone capabilities since I was going to Asia a lot.
After that a series of G-shock/Casios before I would claim I entered my collecting phase about a year ago. I've become obsessed with Divers for some reason.
I found this page, you might find it helpful. I just bought one yesterday at the WindUp Watch Show here in Chicago. I'm obsessed with Divers and I just love the look of this thing. It was an impulse buy, the only impulse buy I've done. The Lume is surprisingly good. I find it luming when most other watches wouldn't be luming, except maybe my Seiko's. I bought the brown face and I find it interesting as it kind of reveals itself in brighter light. In darker moments it just looks dark colored not necessarily brown so I kinda feel I have two watches in one. Maybe that's ridiculous but anyhow, enjoy: https://www.fratellowatches.com/hands-on-the-le-jour-seacolt-lj-scd-002-dive-watch/
