Review after 6 months on the wrist, this Timex field watch really delivers!

I’ve always been fond of Timex watches.

They were the first watches my mother ever bought for me as a kid so when i noticed they were producing automatics I knew I had to snag one eventually.

It’s great to see a brand like Timex trying to level up its game while also still delivering quality products at a really affordable price.

For the price, this watch really delivers on all fronts.

They didn’t cut any corners on the watch itself, sapphire crystals and a titanium case.

When i saw the retail price of 350$ i couldn’t believe it. I thought surely there must be something “wrong” or cheap about the build quality. The specs match up with something like a Hamilton field khaki but for half the price.

The dial is my favorite feature of the watch, it’s a simple but beautiful dial.

It’s what really sold me over something like a Hamilton or Seiko field watch.

The speckled black background with slightly raised numbers looks so elegant and clean with just enough Timex branding to feel cool but not enough to take away or be distracting.

The lume on this dial is incredible, the numbers as well as the 12oclock Exedition North symbol all lighting up in unison is just a joy to look at.

I find myself luming it up at night just to look at for fun 😂

The only part of the watch that feels like they saved on cost is the strap, it’s an odd faux leather that has a styrofoam feel to it. It’s very comfortable to be clear, but definitely does not feel like leather. The buckle is titanium with Timex branding and is also quick release which is very convenient.

Also 20mm, so it would be very easy to find a suitable replacement.

The movement itself is a factory mounted Myota which can lead to some issues if repairs are needed. It looks great through the case back with some Timex branding. It’s really nothing to write home about but it does its job. I’ve noticed a consistent loss of about 1min per day. You can also hear a slight whirl of the movement when you twist your wrist, doesn’t bother me much but i could definitely see the his being an issue for some.

I find this being my go to watch for almost any situation, It’s taken a beating at work but the neutral color scheme also makes it easy to match with any outfit for a nice evening out.

Out of the 3 automatics in my collection this one has gotten a “hey what kind of watch is that?” More than my others by far.

The watch just has a great classy look for a field watch.

If you’re in the market for a field watch, definitely give this one a look!

You really can’t beat it for the price.

Great review, thanks! I'm also a fan of Timex and their current lineup has some real winners, one of which I'm hoping to receive as a Christmas gift from my wife.

And there are hundreds of bands that look good with it too!!!

Great choice

I haven’t pulled the trigger yet but I’m eyeing an army green canvas strap that i think will match the vibe perfectly

Great work. Yes I placed this Expedition North Titanium on a GADA post on this site and agree - its a winner and covers all bases. You don't need to spend a fortune on a solid watch. Knocks are the same for me but for my particular one, the lume wasnt strong and doesnt keep as long as I want. Its a little chunkier than I'd want, too. The Hammy is slimmer. All in all though, this sees so much wrist time its watch drawer friends are jealous. Its my watch buy of the year.

I agree 100%

The lume looks great but definitely fades away quicker than my Seiko’s, especially on the numbers.

Fortunately for Timex i wouldn’t consider that a dealbreaker on such a cool watch 😂
