My missing Montblanc has returned to me

After 6 months away at the service centre for a loose rotar. It’s finally back on my wrist and having clapped eyes on it again, I remember why I took the plunge in the first place.

I don’t buy the brand. I buy the feeling and this watch feels special ( To me anyway )

Thank you I think it’s a very underrated watch

I own 2 Montblanc watches. One purchased a long time ago and one after Minerva. I’ve had issues with both which meant a return visit to the factory in both cases. Unlikely that I’ll buy another.

Sorry but I must ask - how was this repair 6 months job? Did they quote you that or prolongued initiasl quote?

That’s a good question and one I never got an answer for, I bought the watch March 10th, shipped it back April 11th and for the first 6 weeks, no one could tell me even where the watch was! Then yesterday I got it back, the paperwork, just mentions a repair, no detail what so ever. Least the repair was under warranty and seems to of solved the problem. I love the watch, but it has put me off Montblanc and this is an 1858 variant, which is in the upper grades.

I won’t buy another, I always say I buy what I like, but it has sullied the brand for me, I didn’t even get an apology.

Great looking watch

I love Montblanc watches and own 2 with which I never had a problem. Completely understand the bitter taste after your experience but I think Montblanc are getting better every year with their offerings and quality. Hopefully this doesn’t t happen again!

I never really warmed up to Mont Blanc, but I have to admit that this model is on fire! 🔥

Sorry to hear that, I would go crazy on them for this. Definitely not doing themselves a favour, already have issues luring the clients

I did tell them that I have always admired their pens and would accept a pen as an apology, though they have said they are going up the tree to see what’s possible I won’t hold my breath.

Hell yeah, get whatever you can! 6 mo for tightening a rotor seems kinda excessive. Idk what the movement even looks like but that is a 5 min repair on, say a Seiko, including getting the tools out and watch open and closed.

It’s one of the zero oxygen models so it’s repair in a chamber in inert gasses but you would assume they build the watch so would have one to hand.

Woahh, that’s awesome. But yeah you would think even then, it’s not like it needed an entire rebuild, right?

Glad you finally got it back tho!

It won’t stop the MB Boutique trying when I go in and buy a new fountain pen.

I know in a few weeks I will be less sore and list after another one.
