I suspect these were developed before the new Swatches were hinted at...
Colourful watches have been a trend for a few years now, so it makes sense for San Martin to make their spin on it, including the new "it" complication.
The tan and orange one looks fun, but I have no need for another GMT.
I think you are right about the timeline, they have been in the works for a while. They just showed them at the watch expo in Hong Kong and the owner thought it was a cool coincidence. I saw all of this on reddit
It is great timing for them, so I hope they sell well.
I don't own any San Martin watches, but they seem to be well loved by people who do buy them.
Good to see them doing their own designs!
I like them, & wish them every success with their own original watches -personally I'd still prefer one of the plastic novelties,but that's age & where I'm at in my collecting journey.
Cool watches tho & better value than any Swatch.
