Real deal?

Hey Crunchers, I got this Seiko skx007 for my dad today. It’s apparently from 2006.

Are there many fakes and mods cirkulation? And is there some common tells when not the real deal?

It's hard to tell but there's something off about the Seiko Automatic text.

Yes Seikos are highly mod-able and lot of fakes ever since they discontinued the SKX line (007, 009, 013).

The only way to be sure is to take it to a reputable watchmaker/watch repair and have them open up the caseback.
