Order Placed. Worth the money?

Good morning WC,

Couldn’t sleep this night so I went window shopping on Aliexpress, looking for a Pagani or something that would not be a direct clone of any “famous” watch. I do think some Chinese manufacturers offer great price/quality timepieces.

So I saw one Addiesdive with dune dial which looked great, however the logo and mineral crystal made me pass on it. Also 36mm case woth 12mm thinkness is a little too much for me.

Then I found this Tandorio which obviously is a clone of something, but in my opinion, most of the field/pilot watches look the same, so ai chose the option with the logo on the dial so people don’t think I am pretending to have some famous brand.

This watch costed me 40.16€, I still don’t know whether Spanish customs will allow it throw, but if so, for this price I al getting a beautiful pilot dial, some lume, sapphire glass, transparent back, 200m water resistance (screwdown crown), and NH35A movement! I think the movement alone is more expensive than the watch, but there is the magic of coupons and points on Aliexpress.

What do you think about this purchase? I really enjoy the look of this watch, and it’s a perfect 39mm with an elegand font on the dial.

Tandorio watches are great value pieces, as long as you keep them away from water. They have a reputation for performing poorly in water resistance tests and the 100m water resistance and more they advertise is 100% false.

Besides that, they're a great way to get an NH movement with case and sapphire crystal for custom builds. 👍

Yeah, I wasn’t going to take it to the sea anyways haha have a gshock for it:) but thanks for sharing, now I know for sure not to shower with it

Thanks, should be on my wrist in 2 weeks!

Had mine for 3 years + now and it has been faultless. It went in the sea this year no problems.

I’m not a big fan of homage watches but I believe the Flieger is a type and these Tandorio’s don’t really seem to be copying any brand specifically with this model (I stand to be corrected) Enjoy your new watch, they are excellent value.

Side note - keep your ‘Lume’ expectation LOW 👇

Military specifications belong to the public domain and are not covered by the laws of copyright, so any MIL-SPEC watches are fair designs and not your average homage/clone watches.

While most enthusiasts will say "it's a Khaki Field homage" because that's the model they associate with this famous timepiece issued to G.I.s during the Vietnam War, it is, in fact, a MIL-W-46374 design from 1964 that doesn't belong to any one brand. Any watchmaker is at liberty to use a 46374 design, a Type A/B Flieger, or the famous British WWW aka "D12". It's up to each individual to decide if the manufacturer's military history matters or not.

Cool watch that's an inoffensive homage as it's a generic military style. I like it, & for the price of a decent strap it's a bargain 👍👍

·

Nice lookin' watch 😀 Dial though is almost identical to that of Timex Expedition Scout ... which itself takes inspiration from the Hamilton Khaki 😎

Thanks for the information! Great to hear I am not wearing just another clone of an expensive brand. I also gotta say that there are tons of watches with this type of design. Actually, I didn’t feel “bad” purchasing this watch, it didn’t feel like I am doing something wrong, although I understand that there is zero military history behind it

That’s what I thought, but it’s same price with this Timex but has sapphire glass and NH35A movement! And I like the lettering on the dial

Thank you, let’s see when it arrives!
