Hi all. I’m looking at ordering a Christopher Ward watch shipping to California. Any idea of any extra charges I should expect? Tyty
This account is verified. WatchCrunch has confirmed that this account is the authentic presence for this person or brand.
I bought the Sealander GMT last August. With a little discount the watch was a bit over $1100. When it hit the US DHL hit me for $80 for Duty/Handling.
I would have rather not had to pay it, but I figured it into the cost of the watch and was very happy with the CW at $1200.

Cool ty gives me an idea what to expect if I go that route. Might just do two $500 watches. Lolol
I've heard, anecdotally, that there's no duty under $800...

Curious how did they reach out? Or did they accept payment with a card at time of delivery?
DHL sent me this email-
Paid it online.
All of it was fast and efficient. Still didn't like paying Duty...

I'll buy from CW again. The Duty is actually about the same as local sales tax, but I don't like paying that either...
In my experience (in Europe) sales tax is either included in the price or calculated at the point of sale. Customs and import duties are applied if the goods are valued above €150. You should be able to roughly calculate any charges you might face on your official customs website.
You should be able to find a calculator on line to show you the amount you will pay like the below
