Review of the Ocean of Storms
Not sure if it’s the effects of the Solar Eclipse or not but I recall saying I didn’t like the BlancSwatch or SwatchPain because I thought they looked awfully Awful.
You see, I strolled into the Swatch outlet thinking to just take a quick look at the two MoonSwatch Snoopy and I walked out with the Blancpain x Swatch Ocean of Storms instead. It wasn’t on display but it was available. So when I had it on my wrist, I thought the Ocean of Storms is pretty Pretty.
I have posted here some pix of the ‘presentation’ it came in. Not bad especially that round watch ball/case. I don’t really like the Nato in terms of the colour scheme but will leave it on and see if it grows on me.
To explain it all, there is a snapshot of the brochure on the design rationale and the Nudibranch inspiration.
I have also included a lume shot in case you are curious. It’s not too bad, quite good in fact.
There are lots of reviews and vids about this Blancpain x Swatch so I’m not going to repeat the things said about the plastic/bioceramic, overpriced value or the one screw system 51 movement, surely you have heard it all.
All in all, do I like it or recommend it? Yep, I like but only this Ocean of Storms. The 5 launch models in various colours are still a no no for me.
Why did I buy it? Again I say, it’s probably the effects of the Solar Eclipse.

I’m a watch-holic, a watch-addict and recently a watch-cruncher. I'm drawn to watches that have interesting back stories, unique or unusual design language and limited in numbers.

Exactly the same thing happened to me...I wandered into the shop to take a quick look at a MoonSwatch Snoopy and I walked out with the Blancpain x Swatch Ocean of Storms.
I didn't like the strap and replaced it for a Wristbuddys rubber strap.

Haha nice. The rubber strap looks good. I swapped mine with an all black Nato.
