Have loved watches all my life and have recently begun to seriously try fixing older models that I received from my grandfather. Most are flea market finds of little value but makes them great for taking apart and putting together.
Most of my "wearing" watches are moderately priced, under $500, luxury brands like Invicta, Spinnaker, Nubeo, and Vostok- Europe.
commented onLet's Talk About The Lings Scam "Fake" Chronograph Watch·
I "inherited" one of these, plus a host of other non and semi working watches, when my grandfather died. He used to pick them up from flea markets for practically nothing. My "highway gold" Lings has a metal bracelet. Was thinking of resto-modding this one with a Seagull 3600, so that the "chronograph" (HA!) becomes a small second hand. Hard to find movements with a second hand at the 9:00 and I don't want to splurge on a genuine ETA. The watch is simply not worth the expense. More a learning exercise, than anything else. Just not sure it will fit the dial.
