The pre owned Rolex program

Can somebody explain to me the pricing process of the Rolex pre owned program. The pricing makes absolutely no sense. It appears that they have a set price for each model no matter the year or reference number. I’m confused. And, it appears to be higher than the current secondary market????

Most of us are as confused as you are lol. I’ve followed it a bit on YouTube & I’ve had no luck making sense of it either. Not yet anyway.

The year is irrelevant because the watches all come with the same warranty. Any part that might be even a little compromised will have been replaced. The price is higher than the secondary market because there is a premium for it being the closest thing to an "official" channel straight from Rolex and comes with arguably the best warranty.

That said, you are right, the price is still to high. A while back I bought a 2013 NOS Datejust fully stickered from a reputable dealer for a friend and had it serviced before I gifted it just so he'd have the best possible experience. After service it comes with the Rolex warranty, basically like a CPO, and what I paid for watch + service (i.e. roughly what the CPO price should be) was WAY lower than then what the model would have cost CPO (or the retail price of the closest thing in the current catalog for that matter).

Maybe they have large overhead, maybe it is greed, maybe they are just slow to adjust to the market price. The prices will adapt, give it time. For now, just get a nice used one and have it serviced if it needs it for whatever reason.
