Q: How did you get into watch collecting?

Always appreciated watches when I was young, lusted after my Stepdad's Seamaster and then got my own as a 21st present. Then after travelling over 40 counties I've learned to appreciate more affordable time keeping too!

Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?

I really can't remember many if any of my childhood watches, but the watch that has started this hobby for me is the Omega Seamaster Diver 300 I got for my 21st birthday.

Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?

My Rolex 16750 GMT Master 1 is a watch I have inherited from my Grandfather who worked overseas for the British Army as a physiotherapist and I believe he purchased it in Hong Kong. I never saw the watch growing up, he kept it in the bank vault and would just always tell me "One day, when I'm gone, there's a watch waiting for you" and indeed when he passed on and the watch came to me I was astonished. The perfect item to carry the memory of someone I loved and admired so much.

Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?

Do your research! One of my favourite things is learning about the journey of how a brand or maker came to make the watch in question. The rich mythos and history of this hobby is endless and know why your watch is the way it is adds a lot to its meaning for me and of course, buy what you love!

Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?

Some brands which have caught my eye recently are Squale and Vertex and I'm yet to have a proper Seiko of my own in my collection, so that day will inevitably come too.

Q: What is your grail watch and why?

I'm undecided on this at the moment, however the frontrunning pair for me at the moment would be a Vacheron Constantin Overseas for a more sporty option and a Jaeger-Le Coultre Reverso for more dressy occasions. However there are many grails at the moment.
