It's the WC White Christmas 2nd Edition!

Last year, we held the 1st WC White Christmas.

Amidst the vibrant red and green colors that usually accompany the holidays, we showed off our white, silver, and champagne colored dials on WRUW, on each day of December.

Other dial colors joined in too, so long as they showed their watches with a white background. It was a simple way to celebrate the holidays, using the famous Bing Crosby song, "White Christmas", as an impetus and guide.

For the 2nd Edition, I think it would be good to give the WC White Christmas a little twist. Dovetailing on @honedwatches' venerable post on watches for the blind, why not we dedicate the 2nd Edition for the color blind?

Watches are a thing of beauty.

Pops of color on the dial, handset, bezel, and crown, add to the pleasure of looking at our timepieces.

Putting our stunning timepieces on cool straps, makes the experience even more pleasurable and mesmerizing.

For those with color blindness though, it's a difficult personal experience to share in such glee and pleasure... daily.

For those fortunate enough to be able to finally see color after many years, their hearts are truly touched... their lives profoundly changed.

For the 2nd Edition of WC White Christmas, we will dedicate our WRUW posts to those who are color blind. On each day of December, let's post two shots: one (1) colored, and one (1) in black and white or sepia.

Amidst all the vibrant colors of the Christmas season, color blind folks are deprived of the wonder of seeing true and vivid colors.

Let's come alongside them in their oft lonely journey. In solidarity, let's try to share in the difficulties of their experience.

Let's make it a Black and White Christmas!

I must admit that the LAMY pen on the first shot is what drew me in. Very nice photos!

I see you other fountain pen nerds lurking in the background! 🖋️👀

What a wonderful gesture! I am colour blind especially to Maroons/ dark browns. Not too severe but I’d probably fail my flying, driving and riding test if I were to take them again.

I’m with you, two shots in WRUW from tomorrow onwards.

A gift from my son. My most precious pen. Thanks, sir!

Your gesture of buying the braille watch was the impetus, my friend. I will do this then in your honor, and to others who have the same disability. Let's do this!

This was my first watch when I started collecting watches! 🙌🏻 still love this watch!

I’m severely colorblind. I like to explain it like this : I see colors, just not what you see and at different times than you!

Thanks for sharing, sir. I'm sorry about your difficulties in consistently seeing colors.

Yes, I do understand. Some only see bland blues and brown. Others see gray and brown. Still others, like you, have fluctuating experiences of color.

That's why I felt a simple way for us to gain understanding and appreciation of your difficult situation, is to post black and white, or sepia colored photos on WRUW. I realize this doesn't fully capture all the unique and various issues of color blindness. But at least, we will seek to be in solidarity with you during this Christmas season, when bursts of color and lights decorate many places. Seeking to walk with you, sir.
