Owning a mechanical watch means having something that is “alive” at your wrist. Think it as an engine that don’t need fuel and will always work (theoretically). While having a quartz watch means that you do not have any kind of engine, but simply a battery that does the work and one day will need to be replaced. You may or may not interested in that, but mechanical watches are pieces of craftsmanship (that’s why people collect them), while quartz watches are simply expensive objects withou an heart.
