On a hold right now because I'm happy with my big three watches (Grand Seiko SBGN003, SBGP007, and SBGP017) but I could see getting a Spring Drive again someday. Probably a simple 3 hand, black dial like a SBGA467, since I don't have a plain black watch anymore.
It was tough to get over the mental hump, but my nicest quartz, an SBGP017, is, in my opinion, better designed and finished than a BB58 or Omega Railmaster, which are the same price. And other 9fs are finished as nicely for even less. Once you get over the tick, the wearing experience can be a lot better deal.
I've gone full quartz. I sold the last of my mechanicals and bought a third 9f quartz. There's just something about having a HAQ watch that appeals to the nerd in me and the need to always be right.
I still love and appreciate mechanical watches but there is just such a convenience to grabbing any of my watches and knowing it is accurate to the second. Though, I may need to get another spring drive watch at some point...
I've had a few. Sinn 856 UTC was one I enjoyed a lot, a Zodiac Super Sea Wolf, a Spring Drive GMT, and probably some I'm forgetting, lol. I like this because it's a "traveller's" GMT (meaning the local hour hand is independently set to the minute hand) vs a "caller's" GMT, (the GMT hand is independently set.)
Will you feature some of the smaller review/news sites, like Watchclicker and TBWS?
