Tonneau shape meets Tron: Makina Andras_I

I like unconditional case shapes, and this modern piece from a young brand based in the Philippines definitely fit the bill. Very nice execution in terms of case and dial finishing, and a totally unique case profile with an almost sculptural quality to it. The movement is a Sellita SW260-1 with small seconds, so definitely no issues in terms of serviceability down the road. What do you think?

Based on the photo it looks like thickness might be an issue but I like the look.

Thickness is actually only 10.8mm, but it is clearly intended to be an artistic statement with the large, polished chamfers on the case sides. Definitely not for everyone but quite striking in person.

This has been on my radar. How's the lume?

Absolutely zero lume whatsoever. I would not recommend this for low-light visibility or as your daily driver/only watch. This is an awesome design piece and should be evaluated as such, imo.

It's awesome to see brands doing original designs and not homages. Thank you for letting us know the thickness measurement. It must be an optical illusion making it look thicker.

10.8mm is not super thin relative the overall case size, but it is a totally different effect than a slab-sided dive watch case (like a BB41 with the first generation in-house movement, for example).
