Every used wrist sport band to protect your watch ?

Let's say you have a high end watch but you want to take it, swimming, hiking, climbing, skiing, jumping off a plane or going to the amusement park (doing all the coasters).

Have you ever considered using a wrist band (the ones the tennis players use) to protect your watch during these activities that could potentially damage the watch, but still enjoy the pleasure of having the watch on you at all time ?

Do you think it can be a good protection ?

If I was that worried I'd just leave the watch at home for those activities.

Wrist band wont prevent a cracked crystal or the movement from sudden shocks.

I'd just wear my watch, and enjoy it... Maybe put it on a NATO, or MN strap for the extra security in the event of a spring-bar failure.

I think covering the watch kind of defeats the purposes of wearing a watch, it prevents you from seeing the time(tool), and prevents others from seeing the watch(jewelry).

The best bet it to have a watch you like, that you are comfortable wearing while doing the things you love. A "grail" you're terrified to wear isn't much use compared to a watch that's less expensive that you'll actually wear.

It's more of an in between. I don't mind if it gets some little scratches but I prefer extra protection for extra activities

The thing is usually these activities happen when on vacation. And I was wondering if I was trying to take only one watch next summer.
