I took a chance... (NWD, I guess)

...and rolled snake eyes. It doesn't run, and I can't get it to wind up. Beyond my skill level to fix. I know $52 isn't anything to most, but on a fixed income it stings a bit. Bright side. I can try to fix it and don't have to worry about screwing it up.

Just in case you didn't know: Vostoks have a special "wiggly" crown - which you have to keep pulling a little while winding, so it "grabs" the stem. Maybe this helps?

Yeah, I figured that out. In the winding position, the hands spin and there's the typical winding clicking sound. But nothing happens. It won't run. I have a feeling the mainspring is broken because there's a "clunk" (for lack or a better word) from time to time while winding. Even nudging the balance wheel won't kickstart it.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like a correct diagnosis. You might try to find a donor, the movements are easily changed.

Tank Commander does not break. Tank Commander does the breaking.

Sorry to hear that. What movement is it could do a movement swap

Not sure. No markings on it that I saw. Maybe a 2414 A SU? (just from looking on the net). I have a spare NH34A out of an Invicta laying around. I may see if it fits?

I can't see any harm, I mean if it's already naffed can't exactly break it more. I don't think it would fit, due to the NH35 being a bit of a Chonk but it's worth a go. A replacement 2414A is about €34 from what I can see. Can we have a movement shot please?

From what i can see, thats a bog standard 2414 not a 2414A. I think they are the same size, so if you found a working 2414A you could just do a swap

What's the difference in a standard and an A? All I can seem to find on the net are As.

My apologies you are correct. That is indeed a 2414A. When I was researching, the example picture I'd seen had a different bridge, and it turns out it was a franken.

Upon further research I've discovered this: the 2414 is the name of the group of movements, the 2414A is the first revision. Sort of like NH35 is the group, NH35A is the first revision.
