What I love most about buying and hording watches is how utterly unimportant it is. Just such a great distraction from some of the stresses of life.
I daresay like many recent entrants into this odd hobby, pandemic lock downs were a key trigger. I'd worn a smart watch for a few years and suddenly found the thing was pointless: I wasn't tracking any fitness goals and didn't need to be notified of anything...
I decided that I'd like to go back to wearing a "non-smart" watch, and to buy myself something nice but not stupidly pricey...and since peering down that rabbit hole, there's been no escaping watch Wonderland!
