My plastic fantastic watch (it isn't a thrify fathoms)

Folks. Here is my reclaimed ocean plastic watch. The Maurice Lacroix Aikon tide. Got it used on Ebay for just a shade under retail price of a Thrifty Fathoms. It has a quartz movement, 100m water resistance, proper design queues from a brand with heritage and a 5 year guarantee.

At 40mm caseset diameter and 11mm thickness it weighs in at just 55g it is very comfortable on the wrist.

Even the packaging is recycled.

I am just making the point that for Thrifty Fathoms money there are other options with better design and ecological credentials...

Wanted on, the starp didn't fit. The salesperson said they could get a long strap, took my info and would contact me hen it came in. I keep in contact for a while, they assured me it was on order. Thta was well over a year ago and haven't heard from them not even an "opps, we mis-spoke and can't get a strap for you". So I wrote off that store.

BTW, I have done business with them in the past, bought a couole of watches including an Omega, but probably not in the future.

Interesting! On my 6.5inch wrist the strap has about 1.5inches of strap left after the tang buckle, so that kind of makes sense.

Those are really cool. Wish they used a solar movement, though!

That would be neat, and would better justify the retail price!
