A Budget Americaine: the Coach W502B

A watch made in the 2000s, this fashion watch deserves some praise. It has its own style of design for the dial (at least to my knowledge), and the curving of the case is is a great nod and quite a rare homage choice in watches to the Cartier Tank Americaine. When I saw this watch a few nights ago on the account of a vintage dealer in Indonesia, I can’t stop thinking of it. And in the metal it didn’t disappoint.

A quartz watch without a seconds hand, small date window, is just a perfect dress watch. With the curving case it also makes this tank watch fit better on the wrist compared to a straight cased (I have the Sanda Tank Homage). Will put these side to side for a comparative review, but for the few days of having this Coach, for a brand known more for its fashion, and not many interesting timepieces in these modern times, this tank packs a punch! If you could get one in good condition for under 100$, you’re in for a treat

I bought myself one for my birthday back in ‘01 or so. I’ve always had a thing for rectangular watches and thought it was a really good looking watch. I rarely wear it these days, but I still think it’s pretty great. I don’t know if you have the bracelet as well, but it’s really comfortable.

It is quite awesome, even looking at it online it intrigued me but in the metal just felt different. I got the bracelet but haven’t come around to swapping it out. Good to know that it wears well 😊
