I’ve always liked watches. However, I it recently became a hobby for me. This is due to the explosion of great watch related content in the internet that further tingled my fascination in watches.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
I once owned a Baby G in my pre-teen years. My mum told me it was indestructible and I said - challenge accepted. The next time my mum bought me a watch was when I was almost 18.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I used to own one of the generic sports watches from Decathlon. That watch was pretty robust and I wore it ALL THE TIME. This watch was stolen during a sporting event where I had to remove it as I was participating in it. I bought a similar watch, it was a level higher in terms of cost. And, it looked a bit better, the case was the same. That watch and my wrist rarely parted. Guess what - that watch experienced the exact same fate as its predecessor.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Do your research. Whether it’s about a watch you own or a watch you plan to buy. There’s always something fun to learn. And on that note….wear what you like.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
LIP for sure! That brand is under-rated.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
JLC Reverso (in general). They are just unconventional and cool! Not to forget the master craftsmanship that goes into their production.
